NCLEX Exam in Manila Starts August 23, 2007

The National Council of State Boards Of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) will begin NCLEX testing in Manila on August 23.  Application will start July 13, 2007.

The NCLEX examination fee for all candidates is $200.  Candidates who elect to take the NCLEX at an international site pay an additional $150 when they schedule their examination.

The Test center in the Philippines is going to be at the International Pearson Professional Center.

78,000 Take Nursing Board Exam

More than 78,000 nursing graduates took the Nursing Licensure Exams on June 10 and 11, 2007. It is the biggest number of exam-takers in the history of the nursing Board exams.

The two-day exams were conducted in 11 regional offices throughout the Philippines, including Metro Manila, where 41 nursing schools served as testing centers.

The Board exam on the first day was conducted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while the second day exam was from 8 am to 1 p.m.

Results of the exams will be announced in July.

The nursing Board exams are conducted twice a year. The other board exams for 2007 will be held in December.  

Philippines is the Next Test Site for NCLEX

The National Council of State Board of Nursing, Inc (NCSBN-RN) of the U.S. has announced that the Philippines will now be a testing site of the National Commission for the Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

According to the Commission on Filipinos Overseas the first NCLEX will likely be held in three months.  The Pearson Vue, which administers the NCLEX in the US and in other countries, will still have to  conduct inspection of buildings for the exam sites and other logistical operations.

Currently, the NCLEX is being offered in the United States and other countries such as South Korea, London, Taiwan, India, Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Hong Kong. 

Offering the NCLEX locally is expected to further increase the number of takers, now  averaging 12, 000 takers  yearly. Takers from the Philippines comprise 50-60% of the total examinees worldwide.

Philippines has 19,712 new Nurses

The PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) has announced that 19,712 nurses passed its December 2006 Nursing Board Exams.  The number of passers is the biggest so far registered for a single exam for nurses.  A total of 40,147 aspirants took the exams  in 13 different locations in the country.

The passing rate of the December 2006 exams, at 49.1%, approximates the average 49.8% passing rate for the nursing board exams in the last 10 years.

These new nurses are set to have their oath-taking on February 08 at the Cuneta Astrodome.The December 2006 results bring to 56,353 the total number of new registered nurses in the last 3 years  (2004 to  2006) .

ABBA wins "TOP PERFORMER AWARD"

Abba Personnel Services Inc. was cited by POEA as one of the recipients of the “Top Performer Award” for the period July 2002 to June 2005. The award was given to Abba in ceremonies held at the Manila Pavilion on January 31, 2006.

It is the second consecutive award for Abba. The first award was given to Abba in December 2002.

Along with Abba were 20 other awardees in the land-based sector. Among the 20, only 3 agencies were “repeat” awardees, and one of them is Abba.
